About Dr. Ovadia
Dr. Ovadia is a double fellowship-trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon and craniofacial surgeon, board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, practicing in New York and New Jersey. He completed his plastic surgery training in Miami, Florida, followed by two fellowships — Gender Affirming Surgery at Johns Hopkins and Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at UT Austin / Dell Children's Hospital.
Following his fellowships, Dr. Ovadia served as the Director of the Center for Transgender Health at Rutgers University until the end of 2025, when he left to establish Ovadia Plastic Surgery.
With training across two surgical subspecialties, Dr. Ovadia brings expertise to a broad range of procedures including breast reconstruction, gender affirmation surgery, facial cosmetic surgery including facelift, breast reduction and body contouring, facial trauma and complex facial reconstruction, and pediatric plastic surgery including cleft lip and palate.
Dr. Ovadia is a native of the Northeast, having grown up on Long Island with his seven brothers and sisters. He speaks English and Spanish.
He completed his undergraduate education at New York University, where he was a member of the Presidential Honors Scholar Program and recipient of the NYU Founders Day Award. He continued at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, graduating in 2014.
Dr. Ovadia has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications covering topics including reduction mammoplasty, skin cancer, congenital malformations, gender affirmation surgery, and hand surgery. He also contributed five book chapters on eyelid reconstruction procedures, published in Operative Dictations in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
In his free time, Dr. Ovadia enjoys weightlifting, leathercraft, movies, music, and spending time with his family.
